My wife Nancy and I moved to Oakley in 2003, when captivated by its small town charm and its sense of community. We love the outdoors, the Delta, our horses, dogs and we rehabilitate water fowl.

 

I earned an Economics degree from California State University, Long Beach and History/Social Science Teaching Credentials from Humboldt State.

In addition to teaching in the classroom, I coached high school football, track and soccer, until retiring from teaching to become more active as a community organizer.

 

I have worked with California Healthy Communities Network, Communities for a Better Environment, Greenbelt Alliance and others to promote a healthy and sustainable region.

One of my more fulfilling projects was starting and acting as the director of a couple of community gardens in Eastern County.  The gardens/farms goals were quite similar: an attention to serving the disabled, senior citizens and low income families; run by at-risk youth.

Recently I founded the Sierra Club Delta Group and we are working for a sustainable regional ecology.

I stand for responsible and progressive local government.  I will absolutely dedicate myself 100% to representing the 99%.
